We believe seat is the most important part of a recumbent. We designed our seat based on scientific research in Ergonomics and technology to make it very comfortable, strong and lightweight.
Many updated agronomical data have taken into account to optimize maximum comfort, proper pressure distribution, and ventilation. The shape of the seat minimizes the pressure on certain areas that is common on traditional saddles. It comes in two densities; regular and soft. The back seat contour matches the natural curve of back vertebrae and supports the lumber area perfectly. Its mesh is stretch-free and totally breathable.
The seat offers a quick and easy adjustability in several ways and is compatible with our new carrier rack.
FRAME:
Our frame is the result of thousands of hours of professional work. From beginning we knew that a good frame must be strong, has minimum lateral movement, lightweight and stylish. Our frames passed many stages to reach its strong and appealing shape. Its Curves and special shape emulate nature and create a unique geometry that is strong and lightweight. To achieve these goals we decided to produce our own custom extruded seamless AL7005 tubes. (Click for reasons!)
The precise TIG welding and several coat of quality paint make our frames rustproof, durable and attractive. The cable paths are precise and routed partially internal for more protection and elegance.
REAR WHEEL:
Recumbents in general have different weight distribution and function than regular bikes. Rear wheel carries more weight than front wheel, and then more attention is necessary. It needs stiffer rim, stronger brake and more stable swing arm if it is suspended. We have applied all!
We combined a high quality double wall rim with stainless steel spokes on high-pressure quality tires. Other parts and components such as hubs, rear derailleur are selected from leading brands after they passed several extensive tests.
Rear disc brakes make a huge difference in stopping fast on recumbents. The rear mechanical disc brake or upgraded hydraulic disc brake bring great peace of mind riding your bike fast and stopping fast.
SUSPENSION:
Creating a pogo-free suspension system is achieved through precise computer simulation and road tests. The rear bottom bracket joint guarantees a trouble-free, smooth and pleasant ride. Ray-1X come with world-class Cane Creek AD-5 shock which functions by air. Ray-1 is equipped with adjustable coil and gas filled high quality DNM shock. The midDrive system offers a smooth, more balanced and stable transmission system ideal for congested traffic and commuting.
The swing arm conceals the right cables of rear derailleur and the internal hub. Our new dropouts are lighter and give an attractive look to the swing arm.
TRANSMISSION:
Both models are equipped with highly efficient Sram shifters. Ray-1X comes with 27-speed right-handed shifter, which allows you to change all gears with one hand. It even works when you are in a full stop behind traffic lights with a hard to start high gear.
Ray-1 has popular 24 speed ESP 7.0 from which gives a smooth and responsive control of its 24 speeds.
In both models the gear indications are clearly visible through the shifters windows.
The shifters are integrated with matching high quality derailleur, cable housings, sprockets and hubs. No compromises with odds and improper components.
STEM AND HANDLEBAR:
Our stem is made from stiff, double butted AL7005 for more stability and strength. Our experience shows that a stable stem can be a good help to cope a steep hill on a CLWB recumbent. Our bikes have minimum tiller effect, which can be annoying in most turns.
It is adjustable in seconds and comes with braze-on water bottle holder in front of you. The handlebar clamp is removable for easy trial of different handlebars. It is also compatible with our optional extension bar, which give 2" more reach.
